Wayi International Digital Entertainment of Taiwan is looking to do some interesting things with bitcoin. This week, the company announced their online shopping enterprise, Wmall, would accept the digital currency beginning early next year.
But perhaps more interestingly is the fact that the company is aiming to be the first bitcoin exchange in Taiwan. It’s quite brilliant, actually.
The plan is to allow consumers to first pay for their products on Wmall with bitcoin. From there, the company will acquire an amount of their choosing. With that volume, they will then launch the exchange, effectively forming a whole other business.
It’s an interesting concept, and it’s taking place starting on January 1st (for Wmall), so we’ll see where it goes! (via CoinDesk)
