Telecommunications provider Perseus Telecom will be accepting payments in bitcoin, according to various reports making their rounds on the web today.
“Bitcoin is a valuable digital asset and form of payment,” said Dr. Jock Percy, the company’s CEO.
Perseus Telecom’s interest in bitcoin reportedly came about when online gaming services that utilize the company’s bandwidth had requested to pay in bitcoin.
“They reached out to us and a couple of them said, ‘we would like to pay in bitcoin because it’s the currency of our user base,'” said Dr. Percy.
The telecom is working with GoCoin to make the transactions come together – which will allow them to either keep payments in bitcoin, or to convert them immediately to fiat currency.
Certainly good news, here. Read the full report at the Wall Street Journal.
