A group dedicated to raising awareness of bitcoin is planning a campaign to spread their message over 40 billboards in the San Francisco bay area beginning this weekend (December 27th).
AriseBitcoin, as they’re known, calls the project “Hello San Francisco, Hello Bitcoin“, and is hoping to get an estimated 10.5 million total impressions with the campaign from the 27th of December through the 27th of January. Of those impressions, 2.6 million of them will be seen by those aged 18 and above every week.
The billboards themselves are rather simple (photo above), saying “The revolution has started…. Where do you stand?”, with a link and QR code pointing to a bitcoin address with a balance of about 0.02795 BTC as of this writing, or about $20 USD. The total received balance is 24.57 BTC, or $17,769 USD.
They come in at 22’8″ x 10’5″, and will display from South San Jose to San Pablo and between, according to AriseBitcoin.
The goal? “…to introduce new users in the San Francisco bay area to Bitcoin and help provide resources for these users to get started. This project also serves as a introduction for arisebitcoin to the current Bitcoin community in an effort to gain their trust and partnership for future projects.”
