Apparently You Can Now Tip Dogecoin on Facebook

You can now apparently tip dogecoin on Facebook with the help of a newly-approved topping app, it’s being reported.

Developer Alejandro Caballero took to the Dogecoin community on Reddit.com to announced that two new apps have been approved by Facebook: the first is the aptly-named Doge Tipping App, the second is the Multicoin Tipping App.

If you were curious, the multicoin tipping app includes the following crypto-currencies (via CoinDesk): dogecoin, digibytes, einsteinium, fedoracoin, mintcoin, reddcoin, quark, worldcoin, vertcoin, karmacoin, earthcoin, trollcoin, HTMLcoin and what else but donationcoin.

Caballero says that the multicoin app was submitted along with the doge app, but some things needed to be changed before the multicoin application could be made available.

He called the approvals of the apps a “double hit” — adding that more coins could be added in the future.

Despite the approvals, conditions exists, as Caballero says to CoinDesk:

Tipping through the apps work from Facebook Groups, but once you joined one of them, you can send tips to every person existing in Facebook, from your friends list or not. We add groups on request. This way of working is the reason the apps where approved, because they promote social interaction without messing with user’s preferences or security.

The art of crypto-tipping

So what is ‘tipping’ when discussing crypto-currencies? Well, exactly is it sounds. Users in communities donate small amounts of digital currencies like bitcoin and litecoin as a means of appreciation.

The origin of the trend was most apparent in the bitcoin community, when tips were significantly larger than they are today (due to the price increase and scarcity).
